A northern extension of the Lower East Side versus the misconception of an eastern portion of Greenwich Village (as its name seemingly refers) this is a vibrantly congested area of the City still showcasing grit and attitude unique unto itself. With a time-honored mom and pop vibe, not yet surrendered to the overreach of the City’s ever-growing corporate culture, the feeling in the East Village is probably more reflective of Brooklyn than its own Manhattan counterparts. Decorated by some of the City’s most artistic graffiti and adorned by chefs marching to the beat of their own drum, there is a spirit in the East Village that is proud and powerful.
